Who I Am

For 20+ years, I've been an innovative and agile Program Manager, Director of Technology, CTO, and most importantly, a leader-as-coach. By putting people first and lovin' 'em up, I've been blessed to lead eight high-performing business/tech teams across industries to deliver digital transformations and disruptive tech-driven products. Clients include BC Hydro, Boeing, Capgemini Consulting, Expedia Group, IBM, PG&E, Seattle Genetics, and T-Mobile. By working together with shared principles and a disciplined management system, my teams and I have been able to balance sustainability, agility, and innovation to generate over $6 billion in value...and counting...

Since 2004, I've also been a leadership development coach, teacher, speaker, and writer. I love a challenge, especially helping Founders/CEO's of startups and mid-sized companies overcome theirs to disrupt their industries and grow sustainably. In 2005, I co-founded and taught the first seven years the first graduate Business and Law Clinic in the nation at Seattle University. Over the last 16 years, 300+ student "next gen" leaders have inspired, empowered, and improved the lives of 400+ small business owners, including a significant number of BIPOC entrepreneurs.
I'm passionate about living a life of adventure. After sailing over 57,000 nautical miles, including four Pacific Ocean crossings, I earned my Yachtmaster Ocean Certification and Master Maritime Captain's License in 2018. I'm an avid sailboat racer. I know what it takes to win races. Leadership - both on and off the water - is about inspiring teams and empowering them to navigate waters together, especially now, when the storms are raging around us.

In 2017, I was elected Rear Commodore of the storied, internationally known racing club, Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle. I helped sell the idea to the Commodore's and Board and then program managed the successful implementation of a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system called Wild Apricot. As a pro bono leadership coach, I introduced Stakeholder Centered Coaching and to the club, its members, and its community.

2018 was also the year I sharpened my leadership saw, becoming certified in Agile Product and Project Management as well as Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching (individuals and teams). Nominated by my mentor, Alan Mulally, I was selected by Marshall from 16,000+ applicants to join his 100 Coaches Initiative.
